Cougar Hunting with The Flying B Ranch

______ Printable Brochure ______

Three Rivers country lies in the heart of Idaho where the Lochsa, Selway and Clearwater rivers have carved their paths through a landscape of extraordinary beauty. It's the classic rugged terrain of the Northern Rockies—steep-sided slopes blanketed with thick forests, vast brush fields and alpine meadows; a mosaic habitat created in the early part of the century by catastrophic fires. To even the casual observer, this appears to be exceptional habitat for Idaho's prized big game animals — including Mountain Lion, more commonly known as cougar.

Cougar are hunted with hounds during winter months when the big cats may be taken by rifle, pistol or bow. Hunting begins early in the year in the higher elevations; as winter progresses, we follow the cats to lower elevations as they pursue a more concentrated prey base. Because populations of mountain lion are so plentiful, each hunter is allowed to harvest two cats throughout most of our territory. The Flying B Ranch provides two guides to each hunter for seven full days of hunting as you pursue your trophy cat.

Nothing in the outdoors compares to the superior disdain in the eyes of a cougar as his gaze catches yours. Every outdoorsman should meet that look, and we are the best at providing you with that opportunity.
